Minor tidepass .NET update

Finally updated the tidepass monkey icon to something more relevant, and consistent across the versions.

Your client should automatically ask you to install the update next time you run it.

sc2daily.com launches

I am excited to announce the launch of sc2daily.com!

eSports and Starcraft 2 popularity has grown considerably this year and as a fan of Starcraft 2, some friends and I have created sc2daily.com.

sc2daily.com aggregates news, social updates, live streams, casts and discussion from around the web, to bring all the latest Starcraft 2 content to you in one place.

DNSCrypt

I’ve been a fan of OpenDNS free DNS service for some time now, and I’ve been using the preview version of a new tool they have called DNSCrypt.

DNSCrypt encrypts your DNS lookups in a similar way that HTTPS traffic is encrypted. This helps prevent DNS traffic snooping and such.

Today the client notified me of an update, and it looks like they finally have persistent settings across reboots, which makes it so much better. I highly recommend both OpenDNS service and DNSCrypt.

tidepass 1.2 for iOS released

New version supports both iPhone and iPad. Also includes some options under Settings.

It’s free and here is the Direct Link.

tidepass 1.0 for iPhone released

It’s free and here is the Direct Link.

tidepass .NET 2.0.0.2 released

Minor update:

  • Added the option to automatically make the password unique to the current year.
    • In the background this simply appends the current year to the Passname. E.g. A passname of “hotmail” acts like “hotmail2011″
    • You can switch this on and off using “Alt + Y” or in the right-click context menu.
    • Your setting is preserved across sessions.
  • Other minor tweaks and bugfixes.

tidepass will check for the update and you can auto-update or download it at http://apps.tidesoft.com.au/tidepass.

tidepass .NET 2.0.01 released

Minor update with two changes:

  • The alpha and numeric filter checkboxes are fixed.
  • Re-wrote the way filtering is done, which has improved the overall password generation performance considerably.

tidepass will check for the update and you can auto-update or download it at http://apps.tidesoft.com.au/tidepass.

tidepass .NET 2.0 released

Released a major update to the .NET version of tidepass.

Changes include:

  • A new password generating algorithm.
The old algorithm is left as the default and is called v1. The new one is called v2. To switch to v2 Right-Click the background and click use v2.x Passwords.  You can also hit Alt+1/Alt+2.
The most noticeable change is v2 uses ASCII85 instead of Base64 encoding. v2 will also always make the first letter of the password a lower case letter. (As sooo many sites seem to enforce this)
  • Some performance tweaks for v1.
v2 is likely a little slower however I’ll be working on optimizing it.
  • Some UI tweaks.
Password boxes slightly wider. Algorithm used is shown.
  • Some bugfixes.
  • Added About Page with Credits.
    Right-Click background -> About.

You can download it at http://apps.tidesoft.com.au/tidepass.
